
Bill Leisenring
Vice President
Bill Leisenring co-founded CONTROLTEC in 2009 and currently leads all of the company’s product development and light duty operations. Bill has significant expertise in internal combustion engine principles and emissions control, catalyst and diagnostic systems. He spent thirteen years as an engineer and manager in product development at Ford and Chrysler, working in powertrain development with a focus on system reliability, engine and diagnostic systems.
Bill has several patents and papers on powertrain control, calibration and diagnostics. He earned a BSEE at Michigan Technological University and a MSEE at The Ohio State University as a Center for Automotive Research Fellow.
Dave Ploucha
President
David Ploucha, President of CONTROLTEC, co-founded the company in 2009. Ploucha’s automotive roots run four generations deep, and his passion for powertrain excellence fuels his relentless drive to advance the state of the art.
Ploucha’s 17-year career at Chrysler’s powertrain division included assignments in hardware development, durability testing, algorithm design, calibration, certification and validation, as well as key roles in the development and launch of multiple Chrysler powertrains. He is recognized as an industry leader in the design, performance and compliance of diagnostic and safety systems, and is frequently called upon to lead discussions on global integration and feasibility on these topics. Ploucha’s breadth and depth of experience in such areas as transmissions, engines, OBD, and electronic throttle safety controls and calibration afford him unique insight and perspective when tackling vehicle systems testing and data analysis challenges.
Ploucha holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and also a Master’s degree in Systems Engineering from the University of Michigan.
Jim Megyesi
Chief Financial Officer
Jim Megyesi, CFO of CONTROLTEC, brings two decades of financial management experience in the information technology and banking industries, which positions him well to enable the company’s aggressive growth and financial goals.
Jim began his career as an auditor and financial analyst. He received an MBA in Finance from the University of Michigan, while serving as the Director of Business Planning and Analysis at R.L. Polk & Co. There he led the financial planning and management of Polk’s technology and data division, directly enabling the delivery of cost-effective information technology solutions to the automotive industry.
Prior to joining CONTROLTEC, Jim was vice president and finance manager for the Eastern Michigan Affiliate of Fifth Third Bancorp, where he was responsible for financial management in the commercial banking division.
Mike Shields
Chief Executive Officer
Mike Shields is an entrepreneur whose family has deep roots in the southeast Michigan automotive community. In addition to CONTROLTEC, Mike is the CEO of Arrow Racing engines.
As CEO of CONTROLTEC, Mike oversees the strategic direction of the company as it rapidly gains momentum and critical mass toward becoming the premier provider of vehicle systems data solutions. “I’m tremendously proud of CONTROLTEC's depth of industry-proven expertise and technical prowess,” says Shields. “Above all, we are a vehicle systems innovator, and our terrific team of creative minds have been key to our rapdily advancing the sophistication of those systems to the benefit of our global OEM customers."
Shields received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and earned a law degree from the University of Notre Dame.
Jon Stauffer
Director of Strategy & Business Development
Jon Stauffer joined CONTROLTEC in 2010 and began developing strategic roadmaps, new business expansion plans, and pricing and marketing strategies for profitable growth during the critical expansion phase of this young, entrepreneurial firm.
Jon’s dual business and technical experience makes him well suited for the task. After receiving a mechanical engineering degree from Purdue University, he launched his career at Chrysler Group. Jon spent nine years as a product and calibration engineer while earning a master’s degree in electrical engineering.
Jon earned an MBA at the University of Michigan in 2006 and then moved to Deloitte Consulting for four years, where he worked on operational strategy, process improvement, pricing strategy, and merger & acquisition projects.
Greg Pannone
President, CONTROLTEC Analytics Division
Greg Pannone has joined CONTROLTEC to guide the formation of our analytics strategy. Pannone brings nearly 30 years of automotive experience to CONTROLTEC, most recently as Head of Fuel Economy, Performance, and Powertrain Synthesis at Chrysler Group, LLC. Included in his responsibilities were the strategic planning, fuel economy and performance simulations, sub-system specification, and development activities necessary to achieve the competitive and regulatory fuel economy and CO2 requirements for Chrysler Group products.
Prior to this, Pannone spent nearly 25 years in engine and powertrain systems development. At Chrysler, he led the powertrain systems development of many engines, including the HEMI V8. Before joining Chrysler, he was with General Motors Powertrain for eight years at the Warren, MI Technical Center.
Pannone holds BS and MS degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla and a MS of Applied Statistics from Oakland University. He has authored technical papers on alternative fuels, engine technology and control, exhaust emissions after-treatment and fuel efficiency.
Heidi Schroeder
Vice President, CONTROLTEC Analytics Division
Heidi Schroeder has joined CONTROLTEC to lead the development of new analytics product offerings. Heidi brings over twenty years of automotive experience to CONTROLTEC, most recently as Manager of Fuel Economy Development and Simulation at Chrysler Group, LLC. In this role, she was responsible for specifying and orchestrating the development of vehicle level fuel economy and performance for all Chrysler global and Fiat NAFTA vehicles.
Prior to this, Heidi spent over fifteen years in powertrain cooling and HVAC. At Chrysler, she was responsible for small car aero-thermal vehicle development. Before joining Chrysler, Heidi was the powertrain cooling and HVAC manager at Delphi Thermal Systems for various General Motors vehicle programs. She began her career at Saturn Corporation as a powertrain cooling development and design/release engineer. She holds a BSME from Cornell University.
